Polar Bear Crossing

We had been tracking this very large, male polar bear for several hours on this day. Finally, we saw him in the distance and found a good place to wait along the coast. The other bears seemed to wait him out and let him pass by, not wanting to interact with him or maybe just out of respect. The light wasn't in our favor, being in our faces, but we had to make the most of the opportunity. He was such a beautiful creature and it was a privilege just to be in his presence, to get to witness his sheer power as he covered a significant amount of ground seemingly effortlessly. As he turned, he acknowledged us briefly. This was the moment we were waiting for. I spun the dial on the shutter speed to preserve the details and capture this moment. Pause for a bit just to feel his movement through the snow-covered ground and appreciate his majesty.
